Common materials for butterfly valves include the following:
Gray cast iron
Gray cast iron is suitable for nominal pressure PN≤1.0MPa, with a temperature range of -10℃ to 200℃ for water, steam, air, gas, and oil products.
Common grades of gray cast iron: HT200, HT250, HT300, HT350.
Ductile iron
Suitable for nominal pressure PN≤2.5MPa, with a temperature range of -30 to 300℃ for water, steam, air, and oil products.
Common grades: KTH300—06, KTH330—08, KTH350—10.
Acid-resistant high-silicon ductile iron
Suitable for nominal pressure PN≤0.25MPa, with temperatures below 120℃ for corrosive media.
Carbon steel
Suitable for nominal pressure PN≤32.0MPa, with a temperature range of -30 to 425℃ for water, steam, air, hydrogen, ammonia, nitrogen, and petroleum products.
Common grades: WC1, WCB, ZG25, and quality steels 20, 25, 30, and low alloy structural steel 16Mn.
Copper alloy
Suitable for PN≤2.5MPa for water, seawater, oxygen, air, oil products, and steam media with temperatures from -40 to 250℃.
Common grades: ZGnSn10Zn2 (tin bronze), H62, Hpb59—1 (brass), QAZ19—2, QA19—4 (aluminum bronze).
High-temperature copper
Suitable for nominal pressure PN≤17.0MPA and temperatures ≤570℃ for steam and petroleum products.
Common grades: ZGCr5Mo, 1Cr5Mo, ZG20CrMoV, ZG15Gr1Mo1V, 12CrMoV, WC6, WC9, etc.
Low-temperature steel
Suitable for nominal pressure PN≤6.4Mpa and temperatures ≥-196℃ for ethylene, propylene, liquefied natural gas, liquid nitrogen, and other media.
Common grades: ZG1Cr18Ni9, 0Cr18Ni9, 1Cr18Ni9Ti, ZG0Cr18Ni9.
Stainless acid-resistant steel
Suitable for nominal pressure PN≤6.4Mpa and temperatures ≤200℃ for nitric acid, acetic acid, and other media.
